During my recent stay at the Helyar Arms, I was thoroughly impressed by the charming blend of rustic character and modern comforts that this Grade II listed 15th Century Inn offers. The warm welcome from Patrick and Claire set a delightful tone right from the start, making us feel truly at home amidst our family gathering. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with tea-making facilities, which was a thoughtful touch for this tea-loving Kiwi. The highlight was undoubtedly the breakfast-a marvelous spread featuring fresh berries alongside traditional British fare, including lovely chipolata sausages and eggs cooked to perfection. The inviting atmosphere in the bar, complemented by locally sourced meals, provided the perfect backdrop for laughter and memories with my family. We relished the exquisitely crafted delicate touch of both the food and the service, which was delivered with genuine smiles. I can't wait to return for another magical stay in this idyllic corner of the West Country, where the charm of rural England meets warm hospitality.
